History

The rich and unique history of the East Falls Open is the focal point of this website.

Over the last couple of years, Bob Cox has patiently researched the history of the East Falls Open by sifting through old newspapers at the Philadelphia Library, and he has compiled a collection of original newspaper articles going back to the origins of the East Falls Open in 1920.

Combining Bob's research with other information about the history of the East Falls Open, we've compiled a record of the event from 1920 through today (although there are still some gaps that we'd like to fill in).

Click here to read more about the history of the East Falls Open and to view the original newspapers articles going back to 1920.
